The development of services using drones

The industry is moving in a new direction

The value of the Norwegian drone market is expected to increase from 3.4 billion NOK this year, to 5.8 billion in 2030. Norway has the sixth biggest professional market for drones in Europe.

Based on a market study from «Drone Industry Insights», the Norwegian drone industry had a turnover of NOK 2.94 billion at the end of 2021. Within 10 years, the drone industry in Norway is expected to be close to doubling, which will correspond to a turnover of NOK 5.82 billion by 2030.

Until 2030, it is assumed that the greatest growth will mainly be in the professional market. The market study also shows that the energy, construction and agricultural sectors will continue to be the largest consumers of drone services in Norway. We also see a development among estate agents, journalists and construction as well as search and rescue services, who need the drone as a work tool.

OFFSHORE SHIPPING

A game changer for the deliveries to oil installations

Drones are now trialed for logistics, survey and monitoring operations to oil installations in the North Sea, Norway. The reason behind the project is to demonstrate how we can solve logistical challenges and then again improve safety and sustainability in the offshore environment, by using on- demand cargo drone services.

Uncrewed drone services are faster to mobilise and can also fly in much lower visibility, including thick fog, which could be a huge advantage.

MAPPING AND MODELLING

Drones are efficient measuring systems that can be mobilized quickly.

Drones can be used to map and model various areas such as for example construction sites. The data that follows is used as a planning basis, for mass calculation and also for general project follow- up and documentation. This is a very efficient way of collecting data.

ENERGY INDUSTRY

A new sustainable everyday life for the energy industry is here!

Drones are now operating power line inspections and monitoring of power grids. This eliminates the need of traditional helicopter inspections, and at the same time increase operational safety, environmentally friendly transport and efficiency for the utility industry.
